Buried in a declassified 1987 US Army Field Manual on Spectrum Management is this beautiful schematic — "a typical, completed, armored-infantry-mechanized (AIM) division multichannel system diagram with the assigned operating frequencies using the single ABM plan."
It shows how a US Army mechanized division wired up its radio communications during the Cold War — every node, every link, every frequency. The code names visible in the diagram (Domino, Dasher, Dexter, Dogtag, Pepper, Damage) are real radio call signs from the original Army doctrine.
The kind of beautiful operational diagram the Signal Corps drew up by the thousand, now on a tee.
